How much does a septic inspection cost?
$375 flat rate, anywhere inside our service area. No travel surcharge, no tiered pricing, no add-ons discovered mid-job.
Do I have to pay online before the inspection?
No. Online checkout is there for convenience, but you can call 704-495-7855 to book and pay on the day by cash, check, or card. No deposit, and the price is the same either way.
What is actually included in the inspection?
Records research, physical location of the tank and drainfield, tank level and structural condition, lids and risers, inlet and outlet baffles, flow testing, drainfield absorption performance, distribution box checks, and a photo-rich written report.
Do you pump the tank?
No. Pumping is a separate service and is not included in the inspection fee. If the tank needs pumping we will say so and can point you toward local pumpers, but we do not perform it ourselves.
Do you do repairs?
We handle small repairs — risers, distribution box replacement, baffle, lid, and pipe work — and we say so plainly when a finding is something we could fix, so you can get another quote if you would rather. What we never do is drainfield replacement or new system installation, which is where the five-figure money is. That finding is never ours to sell.
How far do you travel?
Roughly a 30-mile radius of Statesville, NC — about 40 communities across 11 counties. If you are near the edge, call and we will confirm before you book.
How long does the inspection take?
Most single-family systems take 60 to 90 minutes on site. If the tank has to be located from scratch with no usable records, it can take longer, and we will tell you on site.
When do I get the report?
You get a verbal summary the same day, on site. The full written, photo-rich report follows within 24 hours.
Is this suitable for a real estate transaction?
Yes. Our reports are built for buyers, sellers, agents, and closing attorneys who need objective third-party documentation during due diligence.
Can you meet my due diligence deadline?

How should I prepare for the visit?
Make sure we can access the yard — unlocked gates, no aggressive animals loose — and share anything you know about the system, including the last time it was pumped.
Who keeps septic records in North Carolina?
The state sets the on-site wastewater rules, but permits, layouts, and repair approvals are administered by each county's environmental health office. That is where we look first.
What happens if you find a problem?
We document it with photos, explain the risk in plain language, and outline practical next steps or referrals. You are not left guessing what to do with the information.
